The idea of trying to make a cuffbracelet popped up, started to crochet, but no exact design in my head. Let's see to where this leads in colors and shape.

Macro shot 

Back in the sixties and seventies it was fashionable to wear a 'postiche'.

When I had a haircut, well, the hair was made into a postiche for my mother, as it was very fashionable those days to have a coiffure with some extra hair. (nowadays too, but they have the clip-in things)

As my grandfather was a hairdresser, he always insisted to make my hair that was long enough into a postiche after having cut it. 

 

The one on the left is about 44 years old and still in a perfect condition, the other ones are when I was aged about 8 and 12. 

 

Me and my sister at the age of approx. 3-4 years old, 

quite a difference :-)

Does anyone have a clue what technique is used to make these ? 

It's very well made, you can brush it, no hair comes out, still after all these years.

Rhubarb cake with crumble

Due to the heavy rain some of the stems of my rhubarb broke off in the garden. Time to try a recipe from my favorite foodblog

 on this lazy, rainy sunday afternoon. 

 

 Rhubarb is not my favorite fruit, but in this combination ... simply delicious !

Bloombloom

During lunchbreak I quickly ran off to the beach to see a glimpse of

the BloomBloom event.

Thousands of flowers and plants are made into art-arrangements by florists and stylists.

Even a garden was made on the beach ... weird to smell such overwhelming

flower scent when walking on the beach. 

 

Worth a visit ! Still open tomorrow !

Seamans knot

Inspired by a seamans knot : the square knot or reefknot made in a combination of a crochettube and a leatherlace

 

She's back in line

 

Amongst the things I use daily with my right hand ... 

you can discover my crochet needle again ! 

It's been 4 months now that I wasn't able to crochet. 

Now, slowly, very slowly and well dosed I make some stitches again.

Try not to overdo, but knowing my temper, that's not easy.

The elbow is better, but not healed totally yet. 

 

Tour de France 2012 and recycling

Totally under the spell of the Tour de France 2012 I made some necklaces out of 

the innertubes of my husbands racing bike.  Just tiny pieces of about 0.5 cm to 1 cm for these necklaces. 

 

I would be such a nice initiative if 'the Tour' would recycle some of the tires that pop during the 'etappes'.

No idea what happens to this expensive natural material after the races. 

Anyone ?
