Cleaned up my studio and found some crochet beads that still had not been used into a design, so I've gave them a 'life' in combination with leather and beads.

Holiday souvenir
Out of the banknote I've made one woven paperbead necklace and a pair of earrings.
I hope I will make someone happy with this.

The making of ...
Jo was so very kind to introduce me into the world of hatmaking. It was an interesting process to learn.
On a warm summerday we started to steam, used our force to shape the felt over the mould, handsewed everything and gave it our own touch.
Very happy with the result, my own handmade winterhat. Finished it off with a little 'zsazsazsucrochettouch'
in wild silk.
A warm thank you to Jo for this wunderful opportunity and very nice day!
ps: she is not only good at making hats, but also a very good needlewoman, check her blog.

Kitchen Garden update: volkstuin
Join me on an lovely summerevening stroll in the kitchen garden.
Welcome!
Apples, pears, prunes and some dille flowers.
Growing under the 'homemade curtains' : cabbages of all kind, fennel, red beets, onions (red and white), sjalots, garlic.
February 2013 .... and July 2013!
Takes a lot of effort to keep away the weeds, the insects, diseases ... but it's all worth it, the taste is incomparable.
A big thank you to my husband to make this garden into such a paradise of taste.

Lost-wax casting
A while ago I joined a workshop "lost-wax casting" given by Linde Neels from Ginkgo.
We worked with sheets of wax that where molded, folded, ripped, dripped, cut ... into the desired shape of the piece of jewelry we had in mind.
Sounds easier than it is.
I chose to make 3 pairs of earstuds, not really knowing how it would look after the process of being turned into silver pieces.
Macroshots: the earstuds mesure approx 1 cm.
