Holiday souvenir

Out of the banknote I've made one woven paperbead necklace and a pair of earrings.

I hope I will make someone happy with this.

13/02/1963 a lovestory

This is in fact the date my parents got married.  My father died several years ago and just a few months ago, my mother started rereading the loveletters she received from
my father when they where engaged. They had a long distance relationship as my mother is Swiss and my father was Belgian.  After having read them she wanted to make a calligraphy and jewellery project with them.
So she started to make a book with
extracts from the letters she got. (they both had a very beautiful handwriting)
Some of the letters where made into paperbeads, so I made her a necklace.

Just paper

I found this beautiful and very thin paperyarn at Paperphine.  I also bought on of their selfmade paperbeads in white.  I crocheted one bead with the thinest paperyarn ... pics to give you an idea.  I will be using these beads in my new collection Les doux & durs.

Woven paper beads

As I am always intriged to learn new things, this time I ordered a tutorial from Papermode on Etsy.
I bought a cuttermap, a good nife and a spray to coat the beads.  And I started looking for paper.
The first paper I found was the cover of a notebook that belonged to my daughter (a long time ago).
Soft blue with some green and red flowers.  Made very nice beads and combined them in a very delicate necklace.
The second try-out was with an old comicbook.  I made  a pair of earrings that look very nice.
Thanks to Papermode for sharing their knowlegde !

Into paperbeads this week

Very small and xl paperbeads found on a market in Entebe (Uganda) pimped with coral, magnesite and turqoise gemstones
You can buy these beauties in Do's shop

I love these small blue paperbeads !

These paperbeads are so thin, wonder how they can make them so perfect !
