Knit, knitting, knits, knitted ...

As I started knitting classes last September I've got totally addicted to it!

My tiny crochetneedle is having a deep wintersleep.

Here are some of the projects I have been making the last months. 

 

Started with my first Lopapeysa!

Took a virtual knitting class at Craftsy from the famous Raga Eiriksdottir.

Totally happy with the result I started a second one.

 

Why not try a pair of socks? 

 

With the description found on this blog I was able to knit my first pair.

Bought beautiful yarn at Sock made by hand for the 2nd and 3rd pair ...

... growing a small addiction into sockknitting.

Minou is still very helpful taking care of my yarn.

On Sunday (once a month) I am joing the knitting club at Vrijstaat-O.

In December I took my crochet needle (size 4.5 instead of 0.75) again and started crocheting some christmaspresents using the starstitch.

My son asked me to knit him a fishermanssweater from the book: Visserstruien by Stella Ruhe. 

The pattern used for this one was URK 2.

 

Some new yarns from Bart&Francis are waiting to be transformed into something nice!

Winterwoollies: crochet versus knitwork

Exercising my 'in the round knitting' the continental way.

Left one is crocheted, right one knitted, but both with the same yarn!

Finished the summer scarf. Still very useful, as temperature doesn't rise above 14 to 15° C here for the moment.

Broomstick lace knit

 First attempt into making a triangular stole, but it stayed an attempt ...

  Found some Drops Lace baby Alpaca to combine with the Lana Grossa Merino so the total color turned out a little softer.

Knew only the Broomstick lace crochet, but googled and found the 'knit'-version of this stitch.

So this is the poncho I made with the skeins from this blogpost

And as the wool is so soft and warm, I made a bonnet for myself and pimped it with a handmade 

flower that was offered by Jo Chapeau ! Have a look at her blog, as she makes the most 

 original hats, bonnets, raincaps and caps for men and woman,  you can imagine.

A fine thought

At first sight, I did not notice the text that was on the extra labels of this very fine wool skeins. 

Buying this wool makes you supporting local communities in Peru : a very fine thought.

Can be worn in different way's :  as a stola or a scarf. 

Extremely soft and very warm.

Took me about 40 hours of knitting.
