A' p-c-a' special

I love to to read the blog of Photo-copy-ann (p-c-a :-) ) - I told her that I had
a very good recipe of turkish red lentilsoup, so here it is :

Kirmizi mercimek çorbasi (rodelinzensoep / red lentil soup)

250 gr of dried red lentils
1 onion / 1 carrot
40 gr of butter
1 l of vegetable stock
500 ml milk
salt / pepper freshly crushed
a pinch of paprikapowder
a pinch of cayenne pepper
1 to 2 tablespoons of lemon juice

Give the lentils a cold shower.
Chop the onion and the carrot.
Put in a casserole with the butter and fry.
Throw in the lentils with the vegetable stock and let it simmer for about 30 minutes.
Give it a good mix (if whised it can be sieved, but I like it thick).
Pour in the milk and let it cook again.
Finish it off with salt, pepper, paprika, cayennepepper and the lemon juice !

Enjoy !

I love lentil soup! I make some "Indian Dhal" from these little reds. Must try yours too!

You made this recipe sound so easy! :)
I only ever made yellow lentils with an Indian recipe. Will try red lentils, soon!
